Statement of Ahmad Ismail

I seldom blog on political issues not because i'm not interested to it... but is just whatever happen is none of my business.. however the latest happening things does concern on me.. i'm born in Malaysia.. as a Chinese, both my parents are Malaysian... they also born in this used to be lovely country... after living in this peace country for most of my life, i learn mix with various races, communicate and be friend with them.. but lately, the statement of Ahmad Ismail that really angered me out. He said that "you chinese squatters are immigrants in Malaysia, you dont deserve equal right".....what is this about??? i never though in 18 years living in this country that i will called as a "squatters or an immigrant"(quoted through http://www.sun2surf.com/article.cfm?id=25544).... i never complaint that i never been treadt an equal right in this country... i noe that i will never have this right no matter what happens.... since high school, i knew that i need to strive my best to have good education, studying in local uni will be no hope at all.. my dreams and my ambition will be sheltered if i rely on government allocation on local university...

i admit i'm not a very good student..i'm just an average student... the motive of i strive the best is for me to gain entry to overseas uni.... the quota's system in malaysia will never give me a chance for me to get entry for my dream course..probably on rubbish course...i thanks so much on my parents for funding me overseas to study.... instead relying on the government system.. is not local uni is not good.. but the system of entering the uni is ridiculious.. UM used to be one of the best uni in the world.. but what happens now... everyone has eyes to look on it.. no need my comment on it...

so, even I know i will not have equal right in this, i never bothered to complained as i know i'm lucky enough to get the best from my parents despite not having the right... the statement of Ahmad Ismail has make me through a stage that i cant be quiet.... I just wonder if chinese is a squatters, can say say abt them... are they not squatters.. as for my knowledge in history, the first ppl who found in malaysia will be the orang asli and allthe indigenous group... the arrival of Malay or Islam is during the sultanate period as well as the Melaka as found as a port.... are they lives in Malaysia at first is still a question marks... i think the government should control this act from being spread.. this statement may give extra cautious to all ppl in this country... the long peacefulness of every races must be retain.. in overseas, ppl look on malaysia peacefulness even they have multi racial society... this should be the same as it bring proud to our country....

I admit that i'm not that patriotic... i'm neither hating Malaysia nor loving malaysia, but i dont want malaysia to be the same as Indonesia or other country...

Ahmad, u shud know that u shud appreciate the existence of Chinese in Malaysia. Who is the one helping the economic of Malaysia if not chinese, who is the one who wins the olympic medals if not chinese, who is the one that helping the development of Malaysia if not chinese...

I cant speak well BM not because i hating it... i can also admit that, i know BM well enough than Mandarin... i cant even read or write Mandarin... you cant say that i'm bias.. because i'm not.. the fairness should be retained... i dont want to be labelled as immigrant coz i'm not... in my birth certificate and passport says i'm malaysian despite i'm born as chinese...

Where is all the justice, where is the Internal Security Act, where is the Sedition Act.... this remarks will make the longing unity between races to be crush down... the ISA are found to prevent sensitive issue to be question.. but now its happening.... why nothing has been charged on Ahmad Ismail... does it means that his saying is correct, does that means that i'm a chinese squatters and an immigrant...or does it doesnt concern much to the gov....

if Ahmad Ismail being detained, it will sso much help to ease this crisis.... but the government opt for the other way where they suspend Ahmad Ismail for 3 years (read news cutting from the star below)..

this Ahmad Ismail, never tend apologies but he merely stating he is right... his supporters actions by tearing up his ex chief minister picture due to the confrontation of the ex CM...
this is terr
ible... where is his respect.. although he is not the CM anymore, the respect should be there.. not only that, he never bothered to feel sorry... i doubt that this suspension will detered him from doing more extreme actions..

His problem did not end there. On Sept 3, Penang Development Corporation (PDC) lodged a police report, asking for an investigation into the now-defunct Popular Profile Sdn Bhd (PPSB), of which Ahmad was director, for wrongfully taking and keeping RM500,000 from the state in a botched land transaction in 1998. PPSB wound up in 2005.

anyway... i dun have much to say...is all my view... i hope it will settled soon.. we can be back as an unity country.... this post is not intended to raise issues but its merely a expression of mine in this matter..

KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 10, 2008): Umno has suspended the rights of its Bukit Bendera division chief Datuk Ahmad Ismail in the party for three years following the racial statement he made last month, claiming Chinese were lodgers in the country and not entitled to equal rights.

I accept it with an open heart

KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 10, 2008): Umno Bukit Bendera division chief Datuk Ahmad described his suspension as “fated” and said he accepted the decision of the Supreme Council with an open heart.

In a press conference held immediately after Abdullah announced the council’s decision, Ahmad said although he felt sad, he loved the party and promised to make a comeback.

“I thank Pak Lah and Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak for bringing my case to Umno for it to decide rather than to BN. This is the right thing to do. If they had brought it to the BN for it to decide, I would not agree,” he said.

He claimed that more than 10 buses of supporters had wanted to come and protest in front of the Umno building yesterday but he appealed to them not to do so in order not to create chaos.

He also urged his supporters, especially in Bukit Bendera, to remain calm, adding he will go round the country to explain the situation to party members.

Asked whether he is prepared to face the Internal Security Act, he retorted by asking the reporter whether she was trying to commit an offence under the Sedition Act.

The party has also decided that all Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties must be strict and take disciplinary action against any members who act or make any statements which can rouse anger and affect the relationship between coalition members.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who is also Umno president, told a press conference the decision was reached during the Supreme Council meeting today which had convened specifically to discuss Ahmad’s case.

"The Supreme Council was of the view that Ahmad’s statements and action which had created unease, anger and objections from among BN component parties were serious and decided to suspend his rights in the party for three years according to Article 20.9 of the party constitution," he said at the party headquarters.

According to Article 20.9, any member who breaches the provisions of the constitution or the party’s code of ethics can

> be imposed with a warning;
> have his rights in the party suspended;
> be prohibited from competing in any post in the party or as a candidate in the state or general election for any period determined by the supreme council;
> be dismissed from the party; or
> be imposed with any other punishment reasonable and in accordance with the constitution.

Ahmad had roused anger among MCA and Gerakan members and leaders with his statement at a political ceramah in Permatang Pauh on Aug 23 that the Chinese community are "lodgers" (penumpang) in the country and are not entitled to equal rights as bumiputras.

Police reports had been lodged against him and there have been calls for him to apologise but he refused to do so.

The BN supreme council had yesterday decided to leave it to Umno to deal with Ahmad.

Abdullah said the cabinet yesterday also discussed race relations in the country and agreed that there have been signs that the situation could lead to tension among the different races.

This is because many people have touched on sensitive issues which have never been raised before all these while and this has created a lot of negative reactions, he said.

"All this while, we have managed to control the situation to avoid undesirable incidents but we cannot allow such a situation to continue as it could disrupt public harmony.

"Therefore, we have decided to instruct all ministries (empowered) with the relevant laws to enforce them so that hopefully, the people will understand that in a multi-racial country like ours, it is important to maintain peace and order and respect towards each other," he said.

Abdullah announcing the punishment meted out

Asked whether this means the Internal Security Act can be imposed in such cases, he said:

"If necessary, if necessary, I would like to stress it, if necessary and such an action (ISA) is appropriate to be taken, I believe the (Home) Minister would also think it is proper for such action to be taken."

To a question on whether action would be taken against the newspaper which reported Ahmad's statement, he said the decision would be made by the Home Ministry.

"Matters relating to the press, matters relating to the actions of people outside the party, as I've just said, will be decided by the relevant government departments or ministries like the Home Ministry and the Royal Malaysia Police."

He said if the political parties sensed that something had potential to create a bad situation in the country, they should lodge police reports and the same applied to the people if they felt that something not right had occurred, so that action could be taken under the law.
